In our endless list of dream botanical gardens, the Berlin Botanical Garden has surely been one of the top ones we look forward to visiting. Luckily, a good friend of Taman Hayat’s, Dewinta, gave us a decent preview of the garden from the eyes of her lenses. In this brief article, we’re sharing this exciting trip with some useful details for those who’d like to see this magical space first-hand!
In the midst of winter, the Berlin Botanical Garden withstood weather of 4 degrees Celcius. On her last day in Berlin, Dewinta traveled 50 minutes from Berlin’s city center, switching from metros to buses. Given the short window of time between the visit and her flight, Dewinta squeezed in an hour of touring the garden. It’s fascinating for us to learn that she managed to capture so many wondrous images with just that much time.

The Berlin Botanical Garden is much larger than imagined. The space is known for expansive cacti collections and Bird of Paradise flowers, however many other plants are just as impressive such as the large-sized bonsai that caught Dewinta’s attention.
With only €6 for adult visitors and €3 for student visitors, this place is clearly worthwhile! To top off, Dewinta described the botanical garden very positively, “the ambiance is very different, it’s like I’m no longer in the city, it’s just like being in nature.”
